Airmail: A bag
that sails directly through the hole without making any contact with
other areas of the board.
Altamira:
A bag that goes nothing but hole even though there is a
blocker and backstop (in reference to entering a cave of
the same name)
B
Back Door:
A bag that goes over the top of a blocker and into the hole.
Backstop: A
bag that lands past the hole but remains on the board creating a
stop for a slider to knock into without
going off the board.
Blocker: A bag
that lands in front of the hole, essentially blocking the hole from
sliders.
Border:
A bag that lands on the board, worth
1 point.
Buckets: An
exclamation made when a bag goes into the hole. Also appropriate for the
act of throwing the bag into the hole.
C
Candycorn:
A short shot, that didn’t make it to the board.
Carlton: A
toss that results in your bag knocking an opponent’s bag into the hole.
Chances Double:
Players call out “Chances Double” when an opposing player achieves a
cornhole, alluding to the
impression that the next player often throws a cornhole
in response to the challenge. “Chances Double” is a form of
gambler’s fallacy.
Cincinnati Slide:
The act of knocking your own bag into the hole by
throwing a bag hard and without much loft.
Corn in the Hole:
When a bag falls in the hole, worth
3 points.
Corn
on
the Cob:
When a player puts every bag on the board.
Cornado:
When a player dominates a game in such a way that he/she destroys
everyone in his/her wake.
Cornament: A
cornhole tournament.
Cornfusion:
When players or teams cannot agree on the scoring.

A
corn row
consists of both players throwing their 4
bags. After each player has thrown 4 bags, the score is calculated and a

Cornstar: A
person who defines supreme confidence, nearly divine ability, and a
frequent disregard for authority.
Cornzizzle:
When a player makes four cornholes
in one round.
Cow Pie:
A bag that lands on the board, worth
1 point.

Dirty Bag:
A bag that is on the ground or is hanging off the
board touching the ground.
Dirty Roll Up:
A bag that hits the ground before landing on the
board.
Dos Cornhole:
Throwing two bags in the hole.
Double Stack:
Try stacking two bags on top of each other and aiming for the hole.
Drāno:
When a bag falls in the hole, worth
3 points.
Drāno
is a reference to a trademark, that of a sink clog
clearing product.
Driver:
The act of knocking your own bag into the hole by
throwing a bag hard and without much loft.
F
Faultin':
Stepping
past the front of the board, or tossing a bag when it’s not your turn.
Fling: Holding one
corner of the bag with your index finger and thumb, fling the bag with a
flip of your wrist.
Flop: Tossing
your bag without any spin or rotation during its flight.
Foot Foul:
Stepping past the front edge of the board while tossing.
Four Bagger /
Four Pack:
When a player makes all four bags into the hole
during his or her turn.
Frame:
A frame consists of both players throwing their 4
bags. After each player has thrown 4 bags, the score is calculated and a
new frame begins.
Frisbee:
Spinning the bag like you would a Frisbee, helping
the bag “stick” on the board.
G
Galbraith:
When a player makes all four bags into the hole
during his or her turn. Can also be deemed in fractions: quarter
Galbraith, half Galbraith, and three-quarter Galbraith.
Get that corn outta my face!:
A term used whenever you successfully counteract your opponent’s attempt
to score. For example: when you put a bag in the hole immediately after
your opponent does or when you successfully knock your opponent’s bag
off the board.
Golden Sombrero:
When a player makes all four bags into the hole
during one round.
Granny: Use
two hands and toss from between your legs.
Grounder:
A bag on or touching the ground.
Gusher / Double Deuce:
Four cornholes by a single player in a
single round.
H
Hammer:
The last bag tossed each round. (Curling uses the same term for the last
stone thrown in an end.)
Hammond:
When a slider
or swish is executed and then
your opponent immediately evens the score by doing the same thing. Also
known as a One-Upper, or in some instances a
Demoralizer.
Hanger / Shook:
A bag on the lip of the hole and ready to drop.
Holer:
When a bag falls in the hole, worth
3 points.
Holy Moly Triple Cornholy:
Throwing 3 bags in the hole.
Honors: The
team who tosses first, resulting from the team scoring last.
Hooker: A bag
hitting the board and hooking or curving around a blocker and
going in the hole.
I
Inning:
An inning consists of both players throwing their 4
bags. After each player has thrown 4 bags, the score is calculated and a
new inning begins.
J
Jumanji:
When a player makes all four bags into the hole
during his or her turn.
Jumper:
A bag that strikes another bag on the board causing it to jump up into
the hole.
K
Knuckleballer:
A bag thrown just like you would a knuckle ball.
Kryptonite:
When a tosser just can’t get a bag to stay on the board due to it
sliding off the back or coming up too short, the board is considered
Kryptonite.
L
Laundry / Wash: When the scores of a single round amount to zero,
the round is called a laundry.
Leprechaun:
When a player places all four bags onto the board
without getting any into the hole.
Lipper: A
woody hanging on the lip of the
hole, ready to drop in.
Lip Job: A bag
that hits the lip of the hole, but ends up on the ground.
M
Mary Ellen:
A short shot, that didn’t make it to the board.
N
No Blood:
A no score round.
Nothing But Corn / Nothing But Hole:
When
a bag is tossed right through the hole without touching the board.
P
Pancake:
Spinning the bag like you would a Frisbee, helping
the bag “stick” on the board.
Police / Da Police:
The Cornhole referee.
Power Wash: A
round in which all four bags from each opposing player land on the
board, causing the round score to be zero (a wash).
Pressure Cooker:
When both players on one end continually negate
each others scores thus creating a very tense situation.
R
Romanyk:
When a player sinks all four bags in a row. "Menage a Manyk" is when the
Romanyk is completed back to back
Round:
A round consists of both players throwing their 4
bags. After each player has thrown 4 bags, the score is calculated and a
new round begins.
S
Sally:
A toss that is thrown too weakly and lands on the
ground before reaching the board.
Shook / Hanger:
A bag on the lip of the hole and ready to drop.
Shooter:
The person currently tossing.
Shucked:
Refers to a team or player who is beaten 13-0 (as in
“You’ve been Shucked”).
Shucker: When
a player pitches a bag and it strikes an opposing players bag knocking
it off the board.
Skunk / Whitewash:
A game that, by some rules, ends in an 11-0 score.
Sky Bag /
Screaming Eagle:
A bag that is tossed so far it lands beyond the
board.
Slam:
Four cornhole's by one player in one round.
Slider / Slick Woody:
A
bag
that slides into the hole.
Stanker: Any
foul bag such as a
candycorn,
dirty,
or faultin'
- zero point
value.
Stick'n Slick: Cornhole bags with two playing surfaces,
usually Canvas and Synthetic Suede. The Canvas side slides and the Suede
side sticks.
Stiff Bag: A
poorly thrown bag as a result of the pressure of competition.
Swisher: A bag
that goes directly in the hole without touching the board.
T
The
Great Cornholio:
A person that throws 4 bags in the hole. All present are required to bow
down in reverence to this cornholer.
U
UFO:
Spinning the bag like you would a Frisbee, helping
the bag “stick” on the board.
W
Wash / Laundry:
When the scores of a single round amount to zero,
the round is called a wash.
Weak Sauce:
Someone who falls way short on their toss to the platform.
Woody: A bag
that lands on the surface of the board, which is worth
1 point.
